Data is valid until 21 July 20082009, Toyota's first operating loss since 1950. After downgrading, Toyota’s profit still expects to go in the red. Before that, everyone in the world learning Toyota Production System, now most of the people said, “Toyota, so what?” No, no, no… let me tell you, actually Toyota still a winner. Why I say like that? Let me show you some analysis from me.
Since 2006-2008, General Motor always shows the profit with “NEGATIVE”, Ford Motor start show “NEGATIVE” since 2007-2008.
Let us look at the Toyota, from 2005-2007, the net profit is keep on going up. Economy so bad, who didn’t affected? Only the people working with government will get less impact. But from manufacturer to trader and services, everyone had been affected!
Toyota Production System is famous with its 7 Waste in production, they really “Stingy” until they can earn the net profit with grand amount of 37073 $ million since 2005-2007 (10898.2 + 12119.6 + 14055.8). Here I didn’t count for year 2008 because the data is only valid until 21 July 2008.
Economy bad, less demand of course will affect sales, as simple as that. I still support to Toyota Production System (TPS). Toyota still use TPS to overcome this economy crisis through get rid of the waste. 2008 is a meaningful year to Toyota. 2008, Toyota become the largest Automobile Manufacturer; 2008, the first time Toyota face lost.
There is a Chinese proverb that says, “So long as there remain green mountains, there is no fear of any lack of firewood.” (留得青山在, 不怕没柴烧) . I firmly believe, Toyota will recover the fastest among the competitors.
